Sunny Skies for Bonanza Support

Happy spring, magnificent people of Bonanza. My name is Amy and I’ve recently joined the Bonanza team as a project manager with the mission of helping to improve the lives of our sellers.

While stormy weather continues to rage across the East Coast, the sky is blue and the sun is warm and yellow here at Bonanza HQ.* This uncharacteristically fine weather has us unboxing our warm weather clothes, switching off our full-spectrum light SAD lamps, and gearing up for what we anticipate will be a very productive few months.

In the spirit of spring abundance, I’m pleased to be able to share a veritable cornucopia of excellent news from our support team. I hope you’re as excited about these updates as we are.

April Fools Bring May Customer Support Tools

As many of you may already know, Bonanza launched three initiatives on April 1st - our brand-new CANTCHA security measure, as well as live chat and phone support for Titan Members. Unfortunately, our less-than-popular CANTCHA had to be retired after just one brief day in the sun. Too bad for CANTCHA, but luckily for our members, the live chat and phone support features are no joke.

While these new support features are currently only available to Titan Members, we’re looking forward to scaling this program and rolling out live chat support for all current and prospective members, Background Burner subscribers, and Webstore users before summer begins. We’ll also be launching live chat for shoppers throughout the checkout process this autumn.

We’re constantly looking for opportunities to improve your experience on our site, and a recent survey of Bonanza’s members found that many of you wished for more diverse support channels as part of your membership packages. Well, you got it. And we can’t wait to chat with you.

Our Happiness Producers are Multiplying Like Rabbits

Pretty flowers aren’t the only thing growing in Seattle right now. This year, our helpful team of Happiness Producers has already increased by a significant amount. We’ve added 33% more troubleshooting support professionals, all of whom are very excited to help you succeed on our site.

A Bonanza Happiness Producer Hard at Work

Of course, more doesn’t necessarily equal better. Fortunately for us, our support team has significantly reduced our average first email response time to less than 12 hours, and that gap is still rapidly closing. In addition, the team's customer satisfaction ratings have risen by 10%, and we're fast approaching our goal of an all-time high.

Never satisfied with “close to our goal,” we plan to continue growing our support team by adding even more Happiness Producers through the end of the year. We’re also diligently working to make Bonanza an even safer place to buy & sell by adding to our swashbuckling team of Loss & Risk Prevention agents.

The 2016 Sellers Choice Awards Really Equinoxed our Socks Off

The good news keeps on coming. Bonanza received a very special valentine this year with the release of the results of the 2016 eCommerce Bytes Sellers Choice Awards. In case you missed it, our users voted Bonanza the most recommended online selling venue and the best in communication. In addition, our customer support ranked higher than that of eBay, Amazon, and Etsy.

Bonanza Most Recommended Marketplace

Thanks so much to everyone who cast a vote in Bonanza's favor. We don’t take such praise lightly, and we’re grateful to have earned your trust. We pride ourselves on turning your feedback into action, and this year we'll remain laser-focused on user experience, customer service, and numerous other improvements inspired by our dedicated sellers. There are many more fantastic initiatives in the works, so keep your eyes on this blog for updates that we hope will help keep your business blooming.

*This is Seattle, sky may not be blue and sun may not be warm and yellow at the time of posting.

Thanks for the update and all your hard work.

Welcome Amy! Nice to see a good update such as this. One thing really lacking on the homestead at Bonanza is live support, online or over the phone. This hopefully will roll out smoothly and benefit all of the members of Bonanza.

I hope this works used to stick up for you guys on different forums until the last 5 attempts to get support just go unanswered. Hope it all works out been here since ’05. Thanks for considering support as being important to us.

Welcome Aboard Bonanza Amy! I find that Advertising and constantly checking up on ones booth by updating items and deleting those which don’t sell helps with the flow and newly interested Customers.
The Advertising Packets that one can buy up for a week or four weeks is such an excellent idea! I’ve used it and it really increased my customers.
I love Bonanza because it’s so creative.

Welcome Amy! Agree with misskeech. Live support, online and over the phone is greatly needed. I believe these features should be offered to all not just a paying plan. I know the frustration of waiting days without an answer to a message sent to Bonanza. I would like to have it through live online chat or a call. Thank you for your efforts.

I know that in the scheme of things, some of our questions may seem insignificant to you – but to us, they are important, and we need almost instantaneous answers.

I also do not think telephone support should be exclusively the prerogative of paid members.

It is very frustrating as robotash commented above, to have questions seemingly disappear in the ozone layer, never to surface again.

When it was Bonanzle support was terrific for everyone even those who weren’t paying for a membership. Everything was done fast and well done. But then the name changed and so did the support and service. Everything seemed to get slower, less service and less customers. Would be nice if we could see the “old name” support and service come back…

Welcome aboard, and the Service you are offering is a far cry from what it was when I first became a Seller here. I actually left for over 2 Years because there was no Traffic at all and now I am back to see if anything has changed. It’s GREAT to have good Service for the Sellers but we need the Customers to visit and buy from us. Service only goes so far when you need to pay the Rent. I sure do hope things have changed. I remember not getting help of any kind. This is all good for Bonanza. I have bought every expensive service you offer to see if it helps. Now: Where can we find those paying Customers?!?!?!?!

I know I just have mostly a seasonal product that I sell but it would be nice to see more traffic and feed back on them than I’ll decide if I want to invest.
Thanks,

That is a nice refreshing notice. I’m brand new to Bonanza just joined today even though it says 2014. I never listed anything back then as I wasn’t sure how to navigate the site. I’m expecting to be approved for selling tomorrow and I welcome ANY advice from anyone who has been selling here with a fair amount of success. Thanks!

BayStateVariety says: 04/19/16 at 04:06:03

Hi, Amy. Welcome to Bonanza.
We sellers always appreciate any attempts to make our lives better and it appears that if you are as successful in your job as Project Manager as you are at your writing skills then Bonanza made a wise hiring decision.
My sales success throughout the years has come from ebay so my Bonanza participation has been sporadic but I keep coming back because bonanza has much potential.
Customer support is important but sellers need sales results vs dollars spent: My Bonanza sales are only 3% of those at eBay but let me stress everything is not perfect there either.
My booth (I wish the name were changed to store. It sounds to me more like a carnival) actually has more product information than my most other selling venues.
Remember, we sellers need sales results for dollars spent.
Bonanza seems to stress moving up to the next level if one is not receiving enough sales but I’m retired and I’m sure all other sellers have limits to the amounts we can afford.
Turbo Traffic, to me, is just an added expense on top of the rather hefty yearly booth fee. Then there is the percentage we can devote to advertising…the total of all these expenses is well above most other selling avenues making Bonanza a difficult place to stay.
Thank you for all your help and support of sellers and we wish you the best in your new job here at Bonanza.
Sincerely,
Brian

Hi Amy, Bonanza seems to run hot and cold for me, but its better than several other sites I’ve tried. Anyway, anything you can come up with to increase visitors to Bonanza will be beneficial to all sellers.

Hello everyone…

Just was wondering if there was a way to import items directly from my website I have with shopify. If so, would it work the same way as importing items directly from my Amazon account to Bonanza.

Thanks for any help I can get.

Patrick

The advertising levels that I am offered do seem to be working, please take this as constructive criticism however sellers need to attract buyers as well. (Clean professional photos, not a photo shot with clutter included with the item, professional well informed and complete listings that Google can use for data metrics and search algorithms). According to web traffic data bonanza is on the right track I believe. A national TV Ad would be very helpful to Bonanza for the holidays (eBay has used this tactic a lot in the past)
