Site name change to bmarketplace?

This is really getting tiresome. Making changes to things that won’t help the site at all while ignoring the actual site problems. As my dad used to say, you can only put so much lipstick on a pig because it’s still a pig.

My comment on the blog post which probably won’t be [URL removed]
Horrible decision. bMarketplace is generic. Bonanza is unique. The only reason I can see to change the name is that “Bonanza” has gained a big reputation with fraudulent sellers.
The site has errors constantly with images, SSL, and DNS name servers. There are still references all over the site to “Pay nothing til you sell” and “Zero fees to list” even though that has changed. Traffic is awful because the site’s trust rating has plummeted. There are sellers with tens of thousands of items who haven’t signed in for months. This is what to address before making a name change IMO.
Makes sense about the DNS/SSL issues I wrote about 2 days ago.

I agree 100% with you. Since Bonanza changed hands, my sales went to zero.

I wasn’t at zero, but I went from about 100 orders a month to less than 10 and just moved them all to eBay. Now that I am changing directions in my business I wanted to rebuild here but this is just one ridiculous change after the other for 2 months.

Sad. Just sad. All that lipstick. From the dollar store. I thought of that same phrase when I read “the announcement.”

Fortress_Lemonade the site is now littered with sellers who dropship from aliexpress now too… I can go to nearly any category on the site and find a seller who does in less than a minute. The site is more or less identical to every other one and nothing unique.

Here was my post on the blog, not sure if it will make it but you never know.

“I like the idea of being, as in “b”, everything we can be. Can you please share some info here on how you will help with increasing traffic via Google shopping. When Bill was here the traffic via Google shopping did well. However, it died down low after he left. Is this just a transition thing where you are going to be re-vamping up Google shopping or is this how it will be from now on…with a decrease in the traffic after Bill left. Google shopping has always been our biggest contributor in sales.”

So far no posts but Awesome have made it on the blog. Sadly, ignoring the less than positive comments is not going to help the situationi

While I’m not crazy about the name they picked, the name Bonanza no longer cuts it as a online marketplace selling site. Unfortunately, when I see bMarketplace I wonder if it will give the impression we’re only a “B” site, definitely not an “A”. And not even a capital “B” at that—just a lower-case selling site. Obviously, the name change is to capitalize on Facebook Marketplace. No complaints about that.

I agree, My first thought when I saw this was bMarketplace for second rate, second place, b rated. Not a good first impression.
