This Owl planter is marked on the bottom with an original red and gold sticker ... Brinn's ... Pittsburgh, Pa ... Made in JAPAN.  There are holes on the top by the ears and 1 hole on the back toward the top.  It looks as if this planter is able to hang from a macrame hanger or hooks made especially to hang planters from.  
This owl is 5 1/2 inches tall x 4 1/4 inches wide x 3 1/2 inches thick.  
The owl has very large wide spread feathers around its eyes.  The colors in it are tan, brown, black, hues of blue and gray.  I believe this piece to be made of Earthenware pottery piece.  I am not really sure but the bottom has a grainy feel to it.  The only flaw I see in this piece is the water and soil residue on the inside and a teeny tiny chip on the top rim.  The owl has no other chips, cracks, crazing, or has been repaired.  The colors are bright and vivid.
