The DVD also contained several commercials for popcorn and candy.

During the period of the Mom& Pop video stores, a company called ScrenPlay Inc came out with these monthly DVD's to play previews in video stores of videos customers could rent. Since most stores did not have all the titles, it was possible with a standard remote to block the titles that were not yet released or not part of the store's inventory. Also, the commercials could be controlled the same way.

because the idea was to encourage rentals, the title, rating and studio was always on the screen for each preview. Some were the theatrical preview and some were the shorter TV preview.

A google search could not find any information about these DVD's but the company, ScreenPlay Inc was acquired by Loop Media in 2019. They they should be of interest to preview collectors.
