Description: This item is a  5 1 / 2 inch plate from Leningrad Russia which shows a female full length sculptured portrait and the entrance to the Letnii Sad (Russian for Summer Garden) in the background.  On the top border of the plate are the words Letnii Sad (Summer Garden) in Russian letters.  At the bottom of the plate, is the word Leningrad.

The Summer Garden Letnii Sad is the oldest garden in Leningrad, laid out in 1704.  The Summer Garden is bounded by the Field of Mars and the Fontanka, Neva, and Moika rivers.  It is a recreational area for the residents of Leningrad. (Source: The Free Dictionary by Farlex.)

This item was purchased by my mother on a vacation trip to Europe in 1985.

The back of the two top plates have no labels.  There is a sales and information label on the back glued to the bottom plate. 

A separate blue label with the word Leningrad is attached to the back side.

This item is in excellent condition. The edges are smooth with no defects.

The front of the plate have no scratches or defects.

.* Finish and Material: The front side looks like pewter (not completely sure) with a metal like finish.  The back side has a solid smooth black back.

.* Mounting method:  There is a loop on the top of the plate for hanging on a wall.
