The novel is rich in unique literary style, metaphors and poignancy, but also uncharacteristically of Faulkner, quite comedic.

Lower spine edge very lightly crimped, else near fine in red linen with gilt embossed titles and orange embossed rules to the front cover and to the spine, upper page edges pale red, end-papers golden-tan; in a very good slightly rubbed dust jacket with fading to the spine panel, small chips to the lower spine edge, very short tears and rubs to the upper spine edge, and rub-wear to the front flap fold; original $4.95 printed price still intact to the front inner flap.
