Professional beach bum and knight errant Travis McGee goes up against psychotic body-builder Terry Bartell. McGee pulls out all the stops when he joins a Carribbean cruise to bring the killer to justice.

Fast paced whodunit is a classic of the genre. Rod Taylor is the daring Travis McGee in this action packed screen adaptation of John D. MacDonald’s thriller Darker Than Amber. Sexy Suzy Kendall as Vangie gets dropped in the ocean with lead boots on and Taylor saves her. Exotic adventure of murder and mayhem from Miami to the Caribbean. Taylor exposes Vangie’s assailants as well as the mystery surrounding her. Brutal, violent battles between Taylor and the bad guys are prevalent. Theodore Bikel is very good as Travis McGee’s partner Meyer and Jane Russell plays the eccentric Alabama Tigress in a rare screen appearance.
