Lot of 3: Three original, unused xilografia (woodcut) bookplates by Italian artist Ivanhoe Gambini. Gambini (1904 - 1992) was known primarily as an architect, ceramics decorator, and muralist. He joined the Futurist movement in 1928 and was one of the first artists to employ air-brushing as a creative technique. One of the bookplates is stamped "XILOGRAFIA I. Gambini" on the back. |
