Close to You was ranked No. 175 on Rolling Stone magazine's list of the 500 greatest albums of all time. The album contains the hit singles (They Long to Be) Close to You and We've Only Just Begun. (They Long to Be) Close to You was the duo's first big hit that gained the Carpenters international reputation for a decade. It stayed at No. 1 for 4 weeks, and became one of the Carpenters' most iconic songs. The album peaked at No. 2 on the U.S. Billboard albums chart. Another Song was very different from the typical Carpenters song and is essentially a suite in three movements: a pop section (0:001:45), a medieval-influenced section (1:452:28), and a jazz section (2:284:22).
