Butterfly Pea Flowers create a pH reaction in water. When brewed without citrus, the beverage is a bright blue color. The addition of citrus - such as lemon or lemonade - causes the drink to turn magenta or purple. Kids love it!

Note: butterfly pea flowers create a natural pH reaction. If you use too much pea flower, the tea will turn purple right away. Some bottle or tap waters have high mineral content which will also cause the tea to turn purple or green right away. We cannot guarantee a specific color.
