An ordinary romance turns out to be a very strange thing indeed in this romantic comedy from Greece. Yannis (Anthimos Ananiadis) is a handsome young man who has fallen head over heels in love with a beautiful woman, Sofia (Kanellina Menouti). This ought to be a simple matter, but it's not, Yannis's father Stephanos (Vladimiros Kyriakidis) is gay, and since embracing his sexuality he's been living with his boyfriend Petros (Hristos Hatzipanayotis). Stephanos and Petros have long assumed that Yannis is also gay, and the young man is in the awkward position of having to come out to his parents as a heterosexual. Meanwhile, Sofia has issues of her own to deal with, she's a bisexual whose serious relationships have all been with women, and when she fell for Yannis after having a few drinks too many at a party, she was living with her latest lover, Zeta (Meni Konstantinidou). Zeta isn't happy about being dumped, especially for a man, and she isn't willing to give up Sofia without a fight. Straight Story was written and directed by Vladimiros Kyriakidis (who plays Stephanos) in collaboration with Efi Mouriki.....
