Vintage original 8x10 in. US double-weight matte candid photograph from the 1940's musical romance, BROADWAY RHYTHM, released in 1943 by Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer (MGM) and directed by Roy Del Ruth. A reluctantly retired vaudevillian clashes with his producer son who thinks his father's entertainment is passe and audiences need something more sophisticated. Meanwhile the producer's father and sister secretly produce their own show. The cast includes George Murphy, Ginny Simms, Charles Winniger, Gloria DeHaven, Nancy Walker, Ben Blue, Lena Horne, Eddie "Rochester" Anderson, and Hazel Scott.
The image features a candid shot inside of a soundstage on the MGM lot and depicts cast member Gloria DeHaven and she laughs while dancing with fellow MGM star Mickey Rooney, who was visiting the set. This photograph was signed in black ink by Gloria DeHaven thusly: Hi Harry - Gloria - DeHaven. On the verso is a date stamp dated DEC 17 1943 from the Advertising Advisory Council of Hollywood. It is in very fine- condition with very light signs of wear on the corners. There are no pinholes, tears, stains, or other flaws.
