Expresso Fine Porcelain Cup and Saucer set
Made in Limoges, France
Three and four leaf clovers, with clover flowers, pattern.
Made with Kaolin, a special white clay found in Limoges that produces the finest porcelain.
A beautiful form design to the white cup with a ridge to the smaller lower cup that gently curves inward and then curving outward again until it reaches the larger bright-gold trimmed mouth edge.
The base is also trimmed in bright gold. The upper edge of the cup is beautifully patterned with an array of green clovers and stems (three leaf and some four leaf clovers) accented with pink clover flowers.
The side handle shows gentle gripping knobs and flourishes to the 'O' combined with half an 'S' shape, making a double opening in the completely bold-gold handle.
The white saucer shows a matching bright gold edge trim, and a matching green and pink clover pattern to its inner lip.
The saucer is 5.35 inches wide, the cup is 2.65 inches wide at the mouth, 1.5 inches wide at the base, 3 inches high and holds a half-cup.
Both together weigh 6.5 ounces.
(No chips, no cracks).
Sharp appearance, lovely gloss and bright gold trim (bold heavy gold to the handle) to the white demitasse cup and saucer with green clover leaf and pink trefoil flower pattern; the outer gold trim on the saucer is bright and bold, the thin gold trim to the inner inset ring, where the cup sits, shows slight rub-wear; with two painted backstamps to the saucer: In green "D & C FRANCE", in pink-burgundy "L. Bernardaud & C Limoges" to the underside; and to the underside of the cup painted in green "D & C France".
