Massachusetts Institute of Technology 1942 Alumni Day Mug featuring the MIT School Seal being toasted by 2 beavers -- the MIT Mascot and the "engineer of the animal world". With the inscription “Where Good Fellows Get Together".
Approximately 4.5 inches tall (about 11.5 cm) and 3.5 inches across the base (just under 9 cm) plus the handle. Part of a series that ran from approximately 1938 to 1954. Made by Bailey-Walker of Bedford, Ohio. A very heavy and well-made mug. Please see my Store for other mugs in this series. Souvenir items like this made during World War II were usually produced in small numbers.
EXCELLENT CONDITION (no chips, cracks, or repairs), showing only the most minor surface wear (now more than 75 years old!) White spots are glare -- see close-up photos.
