"The Fighting Lady USS Yorktown CV-5 and CV-10" This DVD is a collection RARE and amazing films on the famous US Navy's USS Yorktown CV-10 and newsreels on the CV-5 that was lost in the battle of Midway. 1st Film: "The Fighting Lady". This film is a Navy story about the Famous CV-10 USS Yorktown. It is in very good color and shows the life and times aboard the ship during 1944 to 1945. From Truk island, to sinking of lots of Japanese ships, to shooting down enemy fighters, this is Life aboard a carrier. Great historical footage. Runtime 61:28 Min's 3rd Film: "CV-10 USS Yorktown Newsreels". This too is a collection of 2 newsreels. 1st. USS Yorktown CV-10 Smashes Truk Island. Truk was a Japanese stronghold in the pacific and this footage shows an all out fight with the Japanese to take command of the area. 2nd. A short clip from "Salute to the Navy" and it shows the USS Yorktown fighting the enemy plus fighting off Kamikaze's. Another action packed fight aboard the carrier. Runtime 12:41 Min's 4th Film; "To Catch a Shadow". This is a post Korean Navy film about the Navy's ASW (Anti-Submarine Warfare) program, starring the CV-10, USS Yorktown made by Lockheed and was addressed to Captain James Cain, who was commander of the USS Yorktown in 1966 and then went on to be Chief of Staff, Carrier Division 3.
