Copyright 1974, Hershey Foods Corporation

9" x 11", Square bound trade paperback book, 96 pages illustrated with black & white and full-color photographs throughout. From Introduction: Welcome to Hershey! Since the early1900s, people have been coming to visit Hershey. At first, the numbers were small, but in each succeeding year the crowds grew. They came to see a planned community that was built before the term was invented; they came to see firsthand one of the most fascinating American success stories, and they often lingered for awhile in the lovely park or stayed to enjoy the luxury of the resort-like hotel. More people were drawn to Hershey each year, not because the town's attractions were dramatized on billboards or proclaimed on the radio, but because each visitor went home to tell relatives and friends about the pleasant place he had found in rural central Pennsylvania. When Milton Hershey built a community where people could live happily and productively, he created an atmosphere visitors wanted to absorb. Mr. Hershey wanted to establish a real hometown. And he did.
