(Internal #J470-8)  This is a beautiful Traditional Maori mask carved of ancient 40,000 year old Kauri wood with BLUE/GREEN Paua abalone sea shell eyes, made into a pin/pendant with gold tone pin/pendant backing (glued on the back). 

Wheku (Carved Face) The mask is not religious but secular.  

They do not represent idols but renowned ancestors (tipuna) of the tribe.

Measures 2-1/4” long x 1-1/2” wide x 3/8” thick.
