Description Antique Japanese porcelain china candy round bowl with egg-shell and white glaze, hand painted with two butterflies, one yellow, one blue. Bowl has reticulated handle on one side; 6.5" diameter. Makers Mark: Nippon Blue Rising Sun and "Hand Painted". Nippon" is the Japanese word for Japan, and was used from 1890 to 1921, when U.S. customs laws required the word “Japan” be used instead for products being imported. Not an export item; this bowl was purchased in Japan by a family member during WWII occupation. Condition: Very good vintage condition.Undamaged, no chips, cracks or crazing, and very little wear. Some wear on the gold rim. Blue butterfly appears a little faded. Shipping: I ship within one business day of receiving your order.
