(5) Five Antique Photographs of Kathryn Keast and her Parents, circa 1920s. Includes a large color-tinted family portrait and a smaller snapshot version; a large cabinet photo of her mother; a real photo postcard of her mother; and a studio portrait of Kathryn as a young girl. Note: We have many other Keast family photos listed and sold separately. (These photos do not have written identification, but we are able to determine that Kathryn Keast was the name of the daughter by many snapshots in our Keast family inventory. We do not know the names of the parents. However, it appears while many of their Keast clan remained in the St. John, New Brunswick area, this family moved to the U.S., most likely near Boston, although our snapshot collection shows they remained in contact with their Canadian relatives.) The large family portrait measures Measures approximately 9.25 x 15, and the cabinet photo of the mother is 8 x 11. Condition: These are original photographs, not a copy or reproduction. They are in very good to excellent condition. Comments: Cornelius F. Keast was born circa 1861-1862 in Cambridge, New Brunswick, Canada and died March 28, 1912 in St. John, New Brunswick. He was the son of Robert Keast (b. 1817 in England) and Eleanor Keast (b. 1822 in Canada). Cornelius was married to Emma Lozetta Sherwood on November 22, 1890 in St. John. Emma was born November 1, 1871 in St. John, and died September 6, 1931 in St. John. She was the daughter of Adoniram Guilford Sherwood (1848-1924) and Harriet Matilda Rider (1847-1910). Emma had two subsequent husbands including William Thomas Harvey (1851-1923) and Alfred Graves Perry (1867-1950). Cornelius and Emma had four children. They included Guilford Ford Abner Keast (born 1891 in New Brunswick, married Tressa M. McKinney on Feb. 1, 1911 in St. John, died September 13, 1913. Wife Tressa was the daughter of Stewart McKinney and Catherine Ewing. Tressa died in 1890); Rupert Mcleod Keast (born April 20, 1904 in St. John, died January 6, 1924 in St. John); Hettie B. Keast (died in infancy, although a photo of her exists taken September 8, 1900 at about the age of 2. Note: There was another Hettie Keast, most likely her father's sister, who married F. Tolman and had a son "Ford" Tolman, probably short for Guilford); and Charles Keast (born March 7, 1896 in Cambridge, NB, also believed to have died in infancy, although a couple of photos of him exist at the age of 2 months and about 1 year old). Additional Information: The photo(s) in this listing were part of a very large collection (all sold separately) associated with a few Keast family lines, but also including the following surnames: Pollock, Varrell, Batchelder, Thayer/Thayor, Walker, Brewer, Carpenter, Sherwood, Tolman, McKinney, Armstrong and Downs.
