During Renaissance times the dagger was essentially a part of everyday dress and essential for self defense among nobles and commoners, as well as everyday use and rituals.

COMMENTS: Originally listed as a Renaissance dagger bc I got my start selling at Renaissance Fairs. One of my buyers purchased this for use in rituals though and said she needed something sharp, plus just preferred a sharp knife in general.
