If taken in heavy doses (of more than 2g per day), ascorbic acid can interfere with glucose and creatinine level testing of blood and urine (e.g. by diabetics using a glucose-oxidase strip). Contra-indications: Do NOT use if: you are allergic to any of this medicine's ingredients; you have kidney stones (do NOT take more than 1g of vitamin C per day); you have phenylketonuria (due to the presence of aspartame); or you are fructose-intolerant (due to the presence of sorbitol). Due to the presence of sorbitol, use of this medicine in conjunction with kayexalate (polystyrene sulfonate) is not advised. Pregnancy and Breast-Feeding: If you are pregnant: Use this medicine only if necessary. If you are breast-feeding: In the absence of specific data concerning this medicine's ability to pass naturally into breast milk, do NOT use this medicine.
