For your consideration is a vintage made in Japan bud vase.  This vase has the blue lusterware at the top and a beautiful scene hand painted under it.  A swan in in the pond in front of the house with trees in the background all illuminated by a rising sun.  This vase is 4" tall.  No chips or cracks.  There is a chip on the rim that happened during the manufacturing, however it is painted over with the blue lusterware.  It is a manufacturing flaw.
