British/Commonwealth MCP Chevrolet 30 Cwt LRDG truck
The MCP vehicles (Modified Conventional Pattern), which were civilian vehicles adopted for military use. Among the latter was the Chevrolet 1533X2 1,5-ton 4x2 truck, which became most famous in service with the Long Range Desert Group (LRDG) of the British Army. Heavily armed with machine guns it served in a wide variety of roles such as reconnaissance, observation of enemy movements deep within enemy territory as well as exploring attack and resupply lines for Allied troops. Named the Chevrolet 30cwt, the truck was mostly used in North Africa, but also in Italy and the Balkans. It also saw service as an unarmed supply and utility vehicle around the world. The variant depicted is one used by the LRDG and can be armed with Vickers K or Vickers medium machine guns.
This model is 3D printed and meant to be an economical alternative to wargamers wanting to expand their armies, it can also be used to build dioramas.
This model is made in twenty three parts, body, axles, tires, wood shield, machine guns, pintles, sand channels, jerrycans and crates. The model will be sent with support material still attached for better safety during transport, cutting and cleaning by the buyer will be needed before assembly. The model is printed using PLA and gluing is needed, if adding accessories to it superglue type glue will be required or other epoxy glue.
The pictures are from one sample model and some painted shots, the models are similar in grade of detail and after print cleaning. The model is dispatched in a postal cardboard box with protective material inside for better safety.
