Vintage WWI leather money belt from Army's 48th Infantry. Original WWI era money belt made of genuine tan leather and o.d (olive drab) green canvas. These belts were made for military use by soldiers who traveled overseas.
The belt measures 19.5 inches long by 3 inches wide with a 17.5 inch strap. The strap is adjustable so one size fits most. The center is a zippered compartment for bills or papers. On either side are 2 snapped compartments for coins or other small items. The zipper and both snaps are in excellent working order.
The belt is in excellent condition. It is not just a piece of history but a sturdy and practical way to travel.
