This fabulous Peder Severin Kroyer painting was a portrait of his wife Marie, sitting on a summer evening in the rose garden of a holiday cottage. He painted the original oil on canvas artwork in 1893.

This Norwegian artist was born in Stavanger, July 1851 and studied at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen. His work was later influenced by the great French impressionist painters.

Close your eye and you can smell the roses blooming in this painting, and this peaceful garden scene makes a wonderful home decor print for any room in your home.
