Each 1/2-cup serving of acorn squash contains 13% of the recommended daily allowance of potassium and 11% of the RDA of magnesium. Regularly eating potassium- & magnesium-rich foods like acorn squash can lessen chances of stroke, osteoporosis, depression & diabetes. It also contains small amounts of iron, calcium, zinc and phosphorus. 

Sets the standard for acorn squash. Winter squash varieties such as Table Queen were domesticated by Native Americans from indigenous types of squash. Table Queen won the prestigious AAS Award in 1939.
