Vintage Symmetalic Sterling /14k Gold Filled /Aquamarine Brooch In 1902 W.E.Richards founded the Jewelry Company which produced the SYMMETALIC LINE from the 1930’s until about 1950. Richards sold to Horton and Howard and in 2003 was bought out by the AB GROUP out of Massachusetts. This piece is made from Sterling and 1/20 14K gold. It looks as good as it did 70 years ago. The center has an approximate 1 1/2KT size semi precious round faceted aquamarine stone. The stone has an ornamented bezel mount and clear back. Richards was known to use this semi-precious stone in their pieces. The piece is artfully executed with double gold rings and a rotary looking two tone gold petal pattern. Its design appears to simulate motion and reminds a scholar of Greek archeology of the famous Antikythera Mechanism. The central aquamarine stone is highly faceted and sparkles. The finish on the piece shows only slight imperceptible wear. The pin and clasp are intact and function as they should. This piece comes from the estate of an avid collector/dealer. Acquired in the 1960’s. It measures 1 1/2”x 1 1/2”. Weighs 10.4 grams. Great for bridal, wedding gifts (something old and blue) or just a classy piece which would accent any attire. Arrives in a jewelry store box suitable for gifting. Please examine photos fully for additional condition information.
