F Herder 7 inch Santoku kitchen knife. All purpose utility knife.

Vintage unused condition new old stock.

Very rare.

Blade is made form the best Solingen German high carbon stainless steel. Herder is famous for their top quality steel that sharpens easily and keeps a sharp edge.

The blade etch has three spades and the famous CONSTANT name that was used on blades made of the finest German stainless steel.

Blade size is 7 inches, 17.5 cm.

Handle is made from a single piece of natural wood. Herder used very dense and hard wood to produce a handle that will last a lifetime. The steel tang runs almost to the end of the handle and is attached with three brass rivets.

The middle rivet has the SPADE trademark that Herder is well known for.

The handle also has the original gold label with the PIKAS name.

This rare model has brown rosewood straight sided handle instead of the more common black wood handle. A very rare model.

Knife is unused with factory edge and is in new condition with the original red vinyl cover.

Old model F. Herder knives in new condition are almost non existent today. They rarely turn up and can sell for over $500 even in used and worn condition.

Great knife from one of the oldest and most respected knife makers in the world.  Even in Solingen, a town full of respected knife makers, F. Herder was considered one of the finest.

Made in Germany since 1727. Discontinued model.
