USB CABLE TESTER
Does not include cables or USB power source.
This little bare circuit board allows you to test the following types of USB cables:
USB-A (male) to USB-C (male)
USB-A (male) to Apple Lightning (male)
USB-A (male) to micro USB (male)
USB-C (male) to USB-C (male) (basic 5 pin mode)
USB-C (male) to Apple Lightning (male)
USB-C (male) to micro USB (male)
It will indicate continuity of Power +, Power -, Data +, Data -, and CC (for USB C only).
Buyer must provide the following items to use this tester (not included)
1) USB-A plug in power supply (charger). Not all portable power supplies will work, so a plug in supply is best.
2) USB-A to USB-C cable (to power the tester)
3) One or more cables to test.
You can buy these from other vendors. However, in my experience, as many as 10% of these boards do not work. I test each one and also include a detailed instruction sheet.

Using a suitable cable (USB-A to USB-C), not included, connect your 5 Volt USB power supply*, not included, to the Power-IN connector jack.
Connect the cable to be tested to the suitable jacks, with one end connected to the top of the of the tester, and the other end to the jack at the bottom (see below for cables that can be tested).
Observe the red LEDs in the center of the board.
For Apple and USB-C connectors remove, flip, and retest. Both positions should work.
The results can be interpreted according to table 1.
NOTES:
Flex the cable during the test. If LEDs flicker, the cable is bad.
Charge-only cables are particularly useful in airports, hotels, and other public spaces where available chargers may provide a data security risk.
If the LEDs are dimmer on certain cables that could be an indication resistance is unusually high. Consider resistance testing of the subject cable.
*A USB-A power supply is strongly recommended. Most USB-C power supplies will not work.

I do not ship every day. I ship USPS at least twice a week. So it may take up to 4 days for your order to ship. I usually do better. If you need an item quickly contact me BEFORE bidding for possible other shipping options (flat rate shipping will not apply).
