This Bitmaster low curb bit was designed for effective communication and comfort. The loose shanks add flexibility and softness to communication with your horse. The bit is in clean pre owned condition with some light rusting to the sweet iron mouthpiece.
This low curb mouthpiece is more comfortable for the horse to carry than a straight bar mouthpiece. It's also considered more gentle than a jointed snaffle mouthpiece, as there is no pinching effect when the reins are pulled. Having a low leverage shank and a reasonably mild mouthpiece, this bit allows a young colt to be pulled around while introducing light curb action. It is also an excellent choice of bit after training finished or on older, well-bitted horses.
The shanks also swivel from the mouthpiece to enhance lateral control. The mouthpiece measures 5 inches wide by 3/8 inch in diameter. The shanks measure 7-1/2 inches in length with a 2-1/2 inch purchase for a 3 to 1 leverage ratio.
