The mention of the "sun apple" – the orange – can be found in Chinese manuscripts dated 2200 BC. The fruits of the wild orange were used only for the manufacture of valuable medical raw materials. The fragrant oil, which was obtained from the peel, was the main component of charming oriental incense. Europeans got acquainted with this exotic fruit only at the end of the XV century. Now these "golden apples" are grown on all continents.
Orange essential oil is obtained from the peel of a sweet orange by pressing. It is one of the most popular aromatic oils.
