ON FEB 6, 2024 I woke up and heard on the news that Toby Keith had passed, I went outside and put up my Flag at half staff. That very flag was the flag that flew in Afghanistan while Toby was visiting the troops, I saluted to the heavens and thought of all the great things this man has done, his music was only the beginning, this man traveled around the world to entertain our military, he visited wounded warriors at their Hospital Beds, he gave out his guitars to troops. This man is a legend. I opened the curtains in my bedroom and toasted Toby with some Jack and stared outside at the very flag that flew when Toby was on Bagram Air Base in 2007-2008. I captured what us normal folks do when a superstar and humanitarian goes away and leaves us messages in their music that really means something.
