Germination
To germinate Vitis riparia, start by collecting fresh ripe seeds from mature
grape clusters. Place the seeds in a container and cover them with warm water,
allowing them to soak for 24 hours. After soaking, remove any seeds that float
as they may not be viable. Next, moisten a paper towel and place the seeds on
it. Fold the towel and seal it in a plastic bag, leaving some air inside. Keep the
bag in a warm place, around 70-80°F (21-27°C), and check regularly for signs
of germination. Transplant the germinated seeds into a well-draining potting
mix once they have sprouted.
