This Part 1 of this 2-part mini-series focuses on the events hinted at in Wizards of the Coast's Fallen Empire cards. All the drama and tragedy caused by the coming ice age will be dramatically told by the editorial team that brought you the hit Shadow Mage and Ice Age Armada series. The story takes place between the Urza/Mishra war set forth in the Antiquities mini-series and the parallel story being told in Ice Age. The plot is officially sanctioned by Wizards of the Coast and makes an excellent precursor to the Ice Age mini-series.

Issue #1 of 2 - Rumors of War

The story begins in a Dwarven fortress somewhere in the Crimson Peaks in the year 170 AR. The dwarf Kaylen and human Tymolin Loneglade are struggling to hold back wave after wave of invading Orcs and Goblins. Sneaking behind Kaylen an orc runs him through from behind, before Tymolin can warn him. Avenging Kaylen Tymolin slays the Orc, but Kaylen is already lying dead on the ground. Banished by a Dwarven leader she heads to Havenwood to seek her brother Tev.
