This OEM replacement part is a damper assembly designed for GE top-loading washing machines. It measures approximately 9 inches long and over 1 inch wide. The black and silver shock absorber attaches to the washer tub and cabinet to stabilize the tub and reduce vibration. Machines contain four shock absorbers in total. Excessive shaking or loud noises can indicate worn absorbers needing replacement.
To install, first, unplug the washer and determine which of the four shocks needs replacing. Detach the faulty absorber by loosening the mounting nuts. Then mount the new shock absorber and tighten it in place. This damper is compatible with select GE brand models.
