Five dramas based on novels by Danielle Steel. Patrick Duffy stars in 'Daddy' (1991) as Oliver, a successful advertising executive whose perfect family life is suddenly ripped apart at the seams. His wife leaves him, his son gets a girl pregnant, his daughter takes up with older men and his mother is hit by a bus. These crises convince Oliver to change his outlook - and his life - for the better. 'Changes' (1994) tells the story of a top TV news anchor (Cheryl Ladd) who falls in love with LA's top cardiologist (Michael Nouri). However, their relationship is in constant conflict due to their five children from separate marriages. Stacy Haiduk stars in 'A Perfect Stranger' (1994) as Raphaella Phillips, the young and beautiful wife of a diplomat 40 years her senior. When her husband has a massive stroke, leaving him bedridden and helpless, she remains faithful to him for five selfless (and loveless) years. A chance meeting with an exciting mystery man ignites long suppressed passions in her, and they embark on a torrid affair, which she reluctantly gives up out of a feeling of duty to her husband. However, the dying diplomat knows more about the relationship than she realises, forming part of a love triangle which could destroy them all. Stephanie Beacham and Christopher Plummer star in 'Secrets' (1992). Set in the world of glamorous prime-time soap operas, the drama revolves around the cast of a new show called 'Manhattan'. In 'The Ring' (1996), Ariana Von Gotthard (Nastassja Kinski) is the daughter of a wealthy Berlin man who witnesses the way her country is being torn apart in the run up to the Second World War. Her father decides to help his children escape from Germany, and after getting his son to Switzerland, he returns to Berlin for Ariana, but is executed as a traitor. Unsure as to the fate of both her brother and father, Ariana marries a German soldier who is killed in the war. She then flees to America with her unborn child and in New York attempts to build a new life, hoping that she will be reunited with her long-lost brother.
