This is an ORIGINAL ANTIQUE BROOCH PIN that was made during the VICTORIAN PERIOD of c1860 - c1880. This ETRUSCAN BROOCH is made from 18K YELLOW GOLD and is elaborately detailed with ENGRAVINGS, TWISTED GOLD WIREWORK and BLACK ENAMEL. It has 2 old worn stamps that I can not make out, one is on the pin and the other is on the curved pin catcher. The brooch is constructed in 2 pieces, with the upper piece being attached to the lower piece with 4 wire pins - see back pic - so it has slight movement. The brooch is detailed with BLACK ENAMEL and there are two small spots where is it missing or chipped. I am not familiar with repairing enamel so I can not comment, but the spots are small and they are not very noticeable - see distant pic.

The brooch is centrally prong-set with 1 ROSE CUT DIAMOND that has a .65 ct spread - the exact weight is unknown. The diamond measures 5.4 - 5.65 mm in diameter and it is a VERY CLEAR, GORGEOUS DIAMOND! It has abrasions where the prongs are, but you can not see this with the naked eye. The brooch measures 1-5/16” in diameter and it is 7/16” thick with a convex design. The total weight is 8.7 grams. The back has patina that illuminates the age and the front has a beautiful polished finish. If you do not have any knowledge or experience with rose cut diamonds, please ask all questions prior to purchase. ABSOLUTELY EXQUISITE DETAIL & QUALITY... A RARE FIND!

*A NOTE ABOUT OUR PHOTOGRAPHY – Taking pictures of diamonds to be displayed on a computer screen can be difficult, often resulting in the diamonds looking dark (especially rose cut diamonds) when in reality they are not. If you are looking at any of our pictures and feel that the diamonds look dark, please refer to the description of the item that states the accurate color and clarity of the stones.

Also, jewelry and/or diamond grading is done under 10X magnification. When you super-size our photos you will see the item in 100X magnification. Please be aware that you may see things that cannot be seen with your eyes or a jeweler’s loupe. Sometimes these magnified images can make the item look distorted or appear to have problems when in reality it is fine. I list only high quality pieces and avoid those with problems or in need of repair unless it is described as such in the listing. If you are seeing something that you are not sure of, please inquire about it.

REFUND POLICY: The buyer has the right to a refund should the item not be suitable. The item must be promptly returned in its original condition without damage, alteration, repair or signs of wear when examined under a 10x jewelers loupe. Buyer is responsible for return shipping fees unless we have mistakenly misrepresented the item.
