Brand new factory sealed dvd 6-disc set is Out Of Print (OOP) in all formats and no longer being produced.
This season ties up many sub-plots that were introduced over the previous seasons. It was felt that there may not be another because of David Duchovny's lawsuit with the studio over undersold rerun royalties.
The previous season 6 cliffhanger episode has Mulder (Duchovny) falling into a deep coma after coming in contact with a spaceship partialy buried on an African beach. Hoping to find a cure for her partner, Scully (Gillian Anderson) rushes to Africa and the spaceship.
Season 7 begins with Scully, unsuccessful, returning from Africa to see Mulder but is told that he has disappeared. She contacts Skinner, trying to find her partner. In fact, the Smoking Man has taken Mulder away to transplant the telepathic part of his brain into his own cranium. The surgery is a failure. Mulder develops an inoperable terminal brain tumor afterwards; he keeps this information from Scully.
While investigating the bizarre disappearence of a young girl from her home, Mulder soon discovers the truth about his own sister's abduction. He and Scully find evidence that Samantha Mulder was abducted by the Smoking Man, who forced her to live in a now-abandoned US Army base and experimented on her.
Mulder also learns that his sister was taken by a "Walk-In", a benevolent spirit that saves the souls of children doomed to die in suffering. Mulder is eventually reunited with the spirit of his sister, allowing him to finally let her go.
Mulder and Scully investigate a case of alien abduction which leads them back to Oregon, the site of their first case together. Scully gets sick and returns to Washington. Skinner and Mulder return to Oregon and Fox is abducted by a UFO. When Skinner returns to Washington, Scully informs him that she is pregnant in this seasons final cliffhanger episode.
