Salvia Lyrata: 

Native perennial, one to two feet tall, with rosette of leaves at the base.

Tubular flowers are pale blue to violet that bloom in spring and sometimes repeats in the fall.

It is great for evergreen groundcover with ajuga-like leaves.

Large basal leaves are purple tinged in winter.

It reseeds easily to quickly form groundcover.

Can be walked on and even mowed.

Excellent as food for bees, butterflies, hummingbirds and Yellow American Finches (seeds).

Heat and drought tolerant.
