This is a new stainless steel show curb bit with "Nevada" style loose shanks maker marked Les Vogt Performax bit #1117-95-GS. This beautifully hand engraved German silver overlay bit features no pinch swivel cheeks and a medium port pro roller mouthpiece. The bit features 8 inch long center-mount loose cheeks with a 5 1/8" medium, swivel port roller bar mouthpiece
The #95 mouthpiece is designed for a horse that still needs some extra control for his shoulders, for example, a horse that leans into corners, or for teaching the horse to neck rein with the proper "shoulders up"form. When you use your reins together this bit works like any other curb bit, but if you use them one at a time you can lift the horse’s shoulders individually. Hobble at bottom can be easily removed if additional movement is desired.
This is a Leverage Position #1 bit which was designed for short-necked horses with a low neck set that need some lift at the poll to flex properly and re-distribute weight to the hindquarters. Mouth Power #2 bits are considered a medium power mouthpiece for horses with an average mouth.
The Cheeks feature beautiful hand-engraved German Silver overlay on a stainless steel base with a mouthpiece made of sweet iron with copper roller bars. The close up photos show the makers mark on the inside shanks that say "Les Vogt" and "Performax". This is a very well made stainless steel bit with a 5/8 inch diameter x 5-1/8 inch wide sweet iron mouthpiece. The shanks measure 8-1/2 inches with a 2-1/2 inch purchase for a 3.4 to one leverage ratio and weighs in at a heavy 1 pound 9 ounces. This stunning bit will make a great addition to your show bit collection and will look great in any show ring setting.
