Adams China Lancaster Breakfast Cups & Cream Soup Saucer Sets English Ironstone
Here are two beautiful Flat Cups and Saucers / Breakfast Cups and Cream Soup Saucer sets from Adams China in the Lancaster pattern.
Adams China is a member of the Wedgwood Group in England.
Lancaster pattern was first produce by Adams China in 1969, and was to be its last hand-painted porcelain design. Adams based the design of Lancaster on Adams Rose, a pattern the company produced from 1829 to 1861 that featured whimsical red flowers and green leaves on durable ironstone shapes.
The cups are the no stripe handle cups. They are eight sided and so are the saucers. The saucers are like little shallow bowls (called cream soup saucers) measuring about 1 inch high. The saucers measure about 5 3/4 inches in diameter. The cups measure about 2 5/8 inches in height and about 4 inches across in diameter.
The Lancaster pattern features a blue half circle design around the edges and about 1 inch down. In between are blue shapes with red and green floral designs. They are in prefect vintage condition with no chips, cracks or breaks.
