Makoto Shinkai, male, lives in Tokyo. Graduated from Nozawa Kita High School in Nagano Prefecture, Japan, and the Department of Literature at Chuo University in Japan, majoring in Chinese literature. Worked at Falcom Game Company from 1996 to 2001, currently working as a freelancer, mainly producing personal animations. In 1996, after graduating from university, Makoto Shinkai joined the Japanese Falcom game company and was responsible for programming, graphic design, animation, and promotional film production. During his tenure, Shinkai began creating personal animated short films, including the black and white short film "Distant World" (1 minute and 30 seconds) in 1997, the 3D short film "Surrounded World" (30 seconds) in 1998, and the black and white short film "She and Her Cat" (5 minutes) in 1999-2000. In the early summer of 2000, Shinkai began producing personal image animation "The Voice of the Star". In August 2016, "Your Name" was born, and the film grossed a full 12.80 billion yen in Japan. "Your Name" is the first Japanese animated film directed by Makoto Shinkai, with voiceovers such as Takanosuke Kamiki, Moe Nozomi Ueshiraishi, and Masami Nagasawa. The story tells the story of male and female high school students who meet in their dreams and search for each other.
