This is STUNNING! This is an ORIGINAL ANTIQUE BROOCH PIN that was made during the 1930s from PLATINUM. The brooch is in the design of an ORCHID … and it kinda reminds me of a butterfly too. The brooch is set with 1 LARGE SOUTH SEA PEARL, measuring 15.5 mm x 13 mm, that has a GORGEOUS SILVERY GREEN & PINK color! The nacre of this pearl has a bit of texture, which illuminates it’s organic nature.
The brooch is detailed with a combination of 104 OLD MINE FULL & SINGLE CUT DIAMONDS, along with 2 BAGUETTE DIAMONDS that have a total weight is 5 CARATS! The diamonds are in the F-G-H color range and in the SI clarity range. They are all WHITE & BRIGHT with BEAUTIFUL SPARKLE! The diamonds do not have any black carbon inclusions.
The brooch measures 1-5/8” long by 1-9/16” at the widest point and it is 9/16” deep. The total weight is a solid feeling 23.3 grams. ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS! If you have never considered wearing a brooch before, you will after seeing this beauty! I feel as though this piece may have originally been part of a larger, more elaborate jewelry item. It has a double prong hinged clip on the back. You could also have the hinged clip removed and add a chain if you wanted to wear it as a pendant. WHAT A STATEMENT PIECE!
