Noritake Nippon 1891-1921 Oval Serving Bowls w/Lids Trimmed in Gold

It wasn't until 1921 that the United States changed the law so that pieces had to be marked "Japan," not "Nippon." These laws make it easy for today's collectors to identify Nippon china. It was made between 1891 and 1921. The bowl is marked Noritake Nippon. The oval bowl marking is worn but the few letters present are the same as the round bowl.

This was probably the original Peony pattern. The oval bowl is 12" handle to handle with a 7.5" wide & is 3.5" high.
