1000+WOOL GRASS Seeds Native Wildflower Marsh Wetlands Woolgrass Sedge Perennial

WOOL GRASS seeds. Wool Grass can be found throughout much of the U.S. and Canada in wet locations such as marshes, meadows and swamps. From July to September, numerous little spikelets' appear to be covered with wool-like hair, hence its common name. Wool Grass grows readily in wet soil, full sun or light shade. It is quite adaptable to regular garden soil and tolerates occasional dry stretches. In the past, native people wove mats and made ropes with its stems and stuffed its cushiony seed heads into pillows. Wool Grass creates a natural look when planted near water features and ponds. It is often called for in restoration projects. Although people call it a grass, it is actually a sedge. Easy to grow from seed and a long lifespan 10+yrs. Can be grown in large containers. Mature plants can be divided.1000+ Seeds per order.
Some American Native Wildflower seeds need to go through a cold winter to germinate. This plant is one of them. They do this so the seed won’t sprout in fall, only to have the seedling not make it through a cold winter. I have stratified these seeds to simulate a cold winter(stratification) This raises the germination rate considerably. Thanks for looking!!
