Letter from William Desment to A.B.Dilsworth ( Jones County,Mississippi October 20th 1857) detailing grievance of land dispute between his neighbor George P.Smith. Mr. Dement received such notice of defense of position from Colonel Joel E.Welborn of Jones County. Mr. Desment concludes the letter by stating if Mr. Smith protest of the rights of the state ( Mississippi) is successful... his land will be worthless !
