Vintage Blackamoor style brooch that combines a couple of African tribal elements for a fashion forward statement: Zulu Isicholo (headgear) & Ndebele Idzila (neck rings). Today, may be seen as more closely allied with the fanciful Black-Panther-Afro-Funk fashion style. Red enamel on gold tone metal with five small glass diamonds highlighting the Isicholo's headband. This brooch is tiny, but speaks powerfully with a proud female profile and royal coloring. 1.5" X 1" in raised relief. Circa 1960's.
