Antique Chinese carved soapstone figurine of Shou Shouxing



This beautifully carved image of shouxing, one of the three God’s of Fulushou stands at approximately 6 1/4” tall by 2 1/4” wide at his largest part.

Shouxing, also known as Shou or Shouhsing is the God of longevity in Chinese mythology. Here he is depicted holding the peach of immortality in one hand and his staff in his other hand. Represented by the image of an old bearded man, Shou was believed to have been BORN as an old man in ancient Chinese mythology. Take him home with you to have the blessing of long life bestowed upon your home.
