A Man and His Mountain,
The Life of Paul Cezanne

Cezanne was born to affluence and security among the medieval charms of Aix and served an unhappy apprenticeship in banking under his tyrannical father. The world of the moneylender and carefully kept Ledger were not for the likes of Paul. He set out for Paris with his best friend Emile Zola, the fledgling writer barely emerging from the shy lisping child Cezanne had taken under his wing a decade earlier.  Together they would shake Paris to its very sewers.
