CONDITION:
This is a very nice copy of a 1960 edition. This is one of the last printing of this book with a dust jacket. In 1962, jackets were discontinued, and the illustration was printed right on the front board of the book.
The jacket is in excellent condition. The color is bright and vibrant. There are no marks or soiling anywhere on the jacket. There is minor chipping along the top and bottom edges and the flap folds. There is a 3/4 inch closed tear along the lower back spine fold and a 1/4 inch closed tear on the upper back spine fold. These flaws are really very minor to the overall jacket look. They are visible in the scans. Overall, it is an excellent jacket.
The book is also in excellent condition. There is shelf wear/rubbing on the top and bottom edges. The outside color is strong and bright - no fading. The spine color looks a little lighter than the front and back boards. The pages are clean, crisp, and firmly attached with soiling. There are no tears or dog ears anywhere in the book. Aside from two light pencil notations on the reverse of the front free endpaper, there is no writing in the book.
